This Mini Blue Moon is close to its aphelion, farthest point from Earth, so it will look smaller than often. The size does not diminish its impact, however Especially when two SUPER GIANT RED stars, color this Full Moon as much red as blue! These are very large, older stars that will, sooner than later, burst into supernovae.
ALDEBARANV marks the BULL’ S EYE in the constellation TAURUS, aligning with the Sun, but invisible while in the day sky.
ANTARES is the HEART OF THE SCORPION, aligning with the FULL MOON, we may see it, with its ruddy glow, close to this Full Moon;
This Full Moon is in Sagittarius/Gemini, so you may be wondering why these stars are so involved. The signs of the western Zodiac, starting with Aries on March 20, no longer line up with the constellations they were named for centuries ago. Yes, this can be confusing.
This stellar power pair, opposite each other across the sky, represent (in Vedic astrology) two goddesses: Rohini, the beautiful, young dancing goddess who loves the sensual life (Taurus), and Jyeshta, the Wisdom Crone, who often moves in the dark realms (Scorpio).
Their presence in this special second May Full Moon, suggest heightened, world-shifting energies at play.
