I love driving. My deepest memories of my childhood are of being on the road. We were an itinerant family. I changed schools more than a dozen times before I entered high school.
I have never stopped moving. My career as a journalist took me around the world. I have reported from more than seventy countries and called London, Hong Kong, Beijing, Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and Doha home.
I have spent enough time in Islamabad and New York on and off, that those cities feel like home too.
Home is the road.
I wonder if I just do not trust the world enough to stand still? I wonder, if I left myself back there, and all the while I have been trying to get back home.
