Earlier this week, I signed a new book coaching client through one of the companies I freelance for.

“I got one,” my husband said, which is always my cue to pay attention to the hypothetical question he’s about to ask.

My husband Cleo is the walking, talking meme of every man who didn’t want an animal but then becomes besties with said animal, and I couldn’t be more thrilled.

I was leisurely checking my email this morning while I ate my granola, and to my delight I found an email with even more race pictures from a race I had run almost three weeks ago.

My parents’ basement is just like any other unfinished concrete basement—damp, cold, and dimly lit only by the single light bulbs hung sporadically overhead.

As a kid, I always thought luck was about some super great opportunity falling into your lap, finding that four leaf clover, or having some kind of cool material possession.
