Eclipse Hangover

I opened YouTube this morning to a six day old video entitled April 8^th Everything Changes! and I was actually annoyed. This stale content stared at me before I’d had my coffee. I’ve gotta stop tuning in so early.

I remember feeling like this after the Solstice of December 2021. Remember that?? 12-21-21?? That was going to be when everything changed.

Yet here we are again, on the other side of April 8th, are you a changed person? Is the world changed? Only if you want it to be. And if you take action toward change.

I am not a pessimist, in fact I am very much the opposite. I believe in magic and wonder so very much that when random people on YouTube or IG tell me EVERYTHING WILL CHANGE…I believe them. Because that sounds exciting. In our everyday world, our everyday lives, to suddenly be set on a new course, or dropped into NEW EARTH sounds like a call to adventure. And we want that. We want adventure. A changed world sounds better than the one we’ve got.

It’s interesting the eclipse happened during the same 24 hour time period as the Powerball scored a billion dollar winner. Side note: the actual take home after lump sum and taxes is about $350 million. Almost a billion dollars vanished from the jackpot. That is astonishing to me. Proof of marketing in action.

These experiences create a huge frenzy, the event happens, and then the hangover ensues.

We all have to go back to our day jobs. No adventure.

I had my glasses and checked in on the progress (on the eclipse, not the powerball). It was really cool. A reminder that we are part of nature and all her magnificent wonders. And maybe you can remember that you are also a magnificent wonder, like the kid in this picture. This kid is up for an adventure and will surely be disappointed if he doesn’t get one.

I do believe there are endings and beginnings happening for all of us. But that is always the case. If we are doing it right, life means permanent change.

• You are being bold.

• You are taking risks.

• You are going after what you want.

• You are making your own adventure.

• You are embracing the responsibility it takes to play bravely in this game of life.

• You are getting your heart broken. Because that means you are getting out there and taking up space in the arena.

Whatever spark the eclipse ignited in you yesterday, I hope you fan that flame and help it grow into your next adventure. Your one beautiful life is calling.
