Rambling about: Annihilation by Jeff VanderMeer

"Annihilation" is the first book of The Southern Reach series. I should probably write a plot summary, but that sounds like a nightmare when already writing this piece will be very hard. I am bad at writing and concentrating and got sidetracked three a lot of times since starting this draft in VIM because Wayland broke support for GTK global menu and that SOMEHOW is a dealbreaker for me using my…

Hello? Is this thing on?

Hallo! It's... huh... been a while. Work and IRL have been A LOT^{TM}, and I sort of lost the thread of keeping this blog. This year has been.... kind of a blur, with all going on. BUT! I traveled a lot! For work! Even to Japan! It was... nice. I think I'm not cut out for long trips and tourism, but I had fun. I think I'm going to rethink how i use this blog. The weekly update was fun, but is not…

Weekly Update #10

Whoo boy, another full week. Fun week, but goddamn was it full. IRL Training Managed to train almost all the 6 days I set myself for. Didn't wake up on the sixth one lmao. Running could be worse, but damn those 30 mins are BAAAD bad. Gotta get em better. Got myself some running shoes in order not to destroy my knees. Aside from that, the rest is going almost good. Room for improvement for sure.…

Weekly Update #9 - Yet Another Double Update

Goddamn, work got HANDS these days. I'm having fun tho, despite the stress, so it's all good. We are officially back in the wagie year work period, so routine is back, this time hopefully more organized. Training I decided to train a bit more to rebuild a little stamina, which I sadly lost between COVID lockdowns and the last period of university. First week of doing at least 30 mins of running…

Weekly Update #8 - Back to work & Abbruzzo Irish Festival

... Aaaaand another double update, lmao. Full weeks at work, but still managed to sneak in a small roadtrip with S.O. and friends! Roadtrip! This time we went to Novaresco, in Abrruzzo, for the Abbruzzo Irish festival. It was fun, if a lil' bit too crowded towards the end, but we escaped in time. Got a nice purse, on which I ironed a patch some friends got me. It's pretty neat. "I knew it would…

Weekly Update #7 - L'Aquila trip and other fun stuff

Roadtrip! So, this week I had a small break from work, and we decided on a whim to visit L'Aquila, a city in the mountains in central Italy. It's a cute, vibrant city that is slowly but surely recovering from the disastrous earthquake of 2009. Unfortunately the weather was a bit uncertain, so we couldn't do the light trekking we planned, and instead visited some museums and wandered through the…

Weekly update #6 - Back to normal

Back to normal! Mostly worked from home this week, bluhhh. At least managed to spend time with my S.O. so I can't really complain. I think I'll make these posts less structured, I didn't enjoy making all these bullet lists. Let's see how it goes. Games Hollow Knight ing is ongoing! Hollow Knight Spoilers Holy shit are things ramping up. We defeated the Broken Vessel and reached the second Hornet…

Weekly Update #5: Montelago special

Bit of a late and special one this time. We've been to Montelago Celtic Festival last week! It was Fun! And tiring. Very tiring. I am still aching. Unfortunately I didn't take a lot of pictures. For those who don't know, it's a big festival (this year 13k people minimum) that takes place in central Italy every summer, ranging from folk music, cosplay, pop culture, tabletop games, medieval…

Custom blog theme

I played around with my (very limited) CSS skills and created a mashup of the terminal and docs themes. It's kinda hacky and one day I'll try to refine it, but for now it's good enough. I'm posting it here for the eventual viewer who wants to use it. /* Font */ @ import url ( "https://api.fontshare.com/v2/css?f[]=satoshi@700,701,401,400&display=swap" ) ; @ import url (…
