Favorite recent sketch?

I love making things that are not intended to be jewelry into jewelry! This page showcases antique Japanese buttons from Jodi’s grandfather. I adore everything about this page. Each button is truly a work of art and is cradled in a custom setting that lets the button sing (which is an incredible design challenge!). Jackie really outdid herself by dreaming up settings that do not compete with each little hand painting. Instead, she brought in complementary colors in the form of sourced stones and enamel. Chef’s kiss - no notes!

Recent inspirations?

→ Thrifting! I treasure old items and have an affinity for well-made, handcrafted goods! I am obsessed with collecting and have no intention of stopping.

→ Antique châtelaines! Lately, I’ve been in awe of the little bottles and boxes that were once châtelaines. I often wear a big ol necklace with odds and ends and I’ve had fun including some of these bits and bobs into my daily rotation. Every time I acquire a new piece, I investigate the hallmarks to try and learn as much about the provenance as I can. I love a jewelry mystery.

→ The Ruth Asawa exhibit at MoMA was truly incredible. Personally, I cannot stop thinking about the photos of her home - they are so dreamy.

→ This Raybull music video - I love it! I am constantly taken with my surroundings and feel so lucky to live in NYC.

Feeling frisky? Put on the most ostentatious thing you own! While I have my daily staples, I must say that it is very fun to play around in my jewelry box and find inspiration in wearing an old piece in a new way. What you choose to wear is a direct reflection of how you feel.

You can never have enough….?

House plants. Living in NYC, it has become a goal to make my home feel like an urban jungle.
