Even when the weather gods have been insisting on rain every weekend (what the heck, weather gods?), we’re still having a grand ol’ time.
It’s been all book, book, book stuff recently as I wrapped up my tour— which don’t get me wrong, has been an ABSOLUTE BLAST!!— but it is such a treat to be back behind the bar again! I love having both in my life, I really do.
We’re sold out at the Inn the next three weekends buuuuut—
Think: being out with your palette and a coffee at sunrise, putting your brushes to work at the foot of a waterfall… There’ll be group instruction from my husband and Inn co-owner Steven Weinberg, one on one time for tailored-to-you learning, and plenty of opportunity to artistically explore on your own.
Allllll levels welcome!
$999 rate includes accommodation for 2 nights, 2 breakfasts and 1 lunch, plus $100 worth of supplies from beloved local shop Catskill Art Supply.
(Btw: If you’re coming as a twosome and you BOTH want to paint, it’s just $499 for that additional second person. We can take the remaining balance in person when you check in. Second person coming along who’s not going to join instruction? We don’t need anything else from ya!)

And speaking of Steven—
I love this book so much. I love all his books, but listen, I criiied when I first read this one. And I’m not alone in thinking it’s gorgeous in all the ways:
It’s a story told from the POV of a Catskills mountain through the seasons and all five senses. And while it’s technically a children’s book, I think a lot of you grown-ups are going to want a copy for your coffee table too because it reads like poetry and each painting in it is more beautiful than the last.
He’s going to be at the Books Are Magic on Montague Street, 11am Saturday, June 14th for their story time where he’s also going to have some art supplies set up for folks, so if you’re in NYC come on by!
If you pre-order a copy from Books Are Magic before the end of today, he’s including this beautiful limited edition print:
Pre-Order from B.A.M. to get print
He’s also going to be at the stunning little kids bookstore / Italian bistro combo space Sullaluna on June 5th at 6:30pm with artist Julia Rothman.
Scribner’s has chosen THE FOUNTAIN as their June book club pick! In their words:
We are excited to welcome Casey to the Lodge for a live Q&A moderated by Gabriella Valladares on Monday, June 29. The event will take place at The Rounds in the Apex Lodge. Doors will open at 5pm and the Q&A will begin at 6pm. The bar will be open throughout the evening, so feel free to arrive early, grab a drink, and settle in before the discussion begins.
Following the event, guests will also have the option to join Casey and Gabi for dinner at Prospect. Please note, dinner is not included and availability is limited.
It’s free to attend but be sure to register here. You can also get a $25 copy and/or for $35 a copy of the book and a West Kill Brewing The Fountain Skibsol Smoky Ale beer too.
Come hang with me at Scribner's in June
Might I make an itinerary suggestion? Do Steven’s Watercolor Workshop here at the Inn Fri & Sat, extend your stay here for Sunday at no-cost (yes, you read that right! I will totally add Sunday for you for FREE!), then roll over to Scribner’s for my Monday night book club!
And speaking of book clubs, I have had SO MUCH FUN popping into your book clubs via Zoom and your local ones in person! Got a club of your own? Just hit me up here!
I’ve heard from some of you that you’re worried if you didn’t book in March when we first opened reservations you missed the boat, and while yes, a handful of weekends did sell out right away we do still have plenty of rooms from July 10th on!
Book a Room for this Summer and/or Fall
Booking early guarantees plans of course (and if you’re renting a car it’ll be cheaper in advance! other hot tip: take the train to Poughkeepsie and rent a car from there!), but keep us in mind for more last minute weekends too as our calendar is no longer quite as nutty as some of you are remembering from immediately post-pandemic times!
See ya soon?
