Dances with elephants

It was a misty foggy day not long

Before the storm wrecked throng

Arrived upon our shores and sought

Prosperity, peace, and what they thought

Would be a better greater life away

From all the systems in disarray.

But they had not yet arrived when I

Suited up in garb of stone and with my

Herd of elephants went through the fog

To the grand pavilion without my dog.

Trillian aboard the Heart of Gold would say

What is normal anyway? A bodysuit

Of stone, trained elephants so cute

Wandering around through clouds

Until performing before large crowds.

Each one as they say to his own

With freedom to be as we have grown

Comfortable with what seems weird

To people with hang ups they haven't cleared.

Now if you think it odd to like

Training an elephant to ride a bike

Under the big top beneath the high wire

Try getting tigers to leap through hoops of fire.

Then you'll see it really isn't up to me

To be what you feel you ought to see.

We live in strange days my funny friend.

May your joyous years never end.

____________

That's all I have for today. Come back another time when I have something new. Or old.
