The South Carolina House has stepped up in the final days of session, advancing key priorities that protect liberty, parental rights, medical freedom, and fair representation. But with Sine Die looming on May 14, the Senate is dragging its feet. The most liberal “Republican” legislature in the country needs a fire lit under it—your calls and pressure are essential.
Fix the Unconstitutional 6th District – Congressional Districts drawn on the basis of race are discriminatory and unconstitutional. The U.S. Supreme Court has made that clear. Yet a few Republican senators are signaling that they will stalled out our chance to Fix the 6th. The House has moved a Sine Die Resolution that would allow the legislature to return after adjournment specifically to address congressional redistricting. This is the path forward to dismantle Jim Clyburn’s racial gerrymander. The Senate must include reapportionment in the resolution—NO EXCUSES.
CALL TO ACTION: Contact your State Senator today and demand they support the Sine Die Resolution with NO AMENDMENTS!
Ivermectin Access Bill (H. 4042) Passed the House strongly (100-9). This bill removes government barriers and allows South Carolinians to purchase ivermectin over the counter. This bill’s sponsor is SCFC member Rep Jay Kilmartin. Now the Senate needs to send it to the Governor’s desk before they go home.
Parental Rights Legislation (H. 4757)—The House delivered strong votes (116-1) protecting parents’ fundamental rights to direct the upbringing, education, and medical decisions for their own children. This includes greater transparency, curriculum review, opt-out rights, and safeguarding against overreach in schools. These bills affirm that parents—not the state or activist teachers—know what’s best for their kids. Senate passage is non-negotiable.
Additional Priorities Moving Forward
Sharia Law / Foreign Courts Ban (H. 4671): Filed by Freedom Caucus member Sarita Edgerton, this bill ensures South Carolina courts cannot enforce foreign laws that violate our state and U.S. Constitutions. Persistence from our team got it a hearing—now it needs full momentum.
Fighting DEI Waste and Indoctrination (H. 3927): In 2023 we highlighted the insane amounts of taxpayer-funded DEI nonsense in schools and state institutions. The House passed this bill last April (82-32) to remove these programs; the Senate must follow through by giving H. 3927 a vote tomorrow (Tuesday, May 12).
The establishment loves to talk conservative values at election time but goes soft when it’s time to deliver. The Freedom Caucus exists to hold them accountable and push this legislature rightward. Time is running out. Session ends May 14 at 5 PM.
Contact your Senator NOW. Demand action on redistricting, Ivermectin access, Parental Rights, and the full conservative agenda before they adjourn.
For Liberty,
South Carolina Freedom Caucus
