Following on from this post - I did also write a letter to my second bub while she was in utero as well. While it’s not as verbose (how second-born is that?!) it was written from a pretty special location.
Dear New Baby ( that's what we've been calling you)
Your Mamma is writing you this from on top of a volcano! Literally - in Vanuatu. As I write this I'm nearly 6 months pregnant and I am bursting with joy to meet you and introduce you to your lovely big sister M* (who won't be the tiniest then!) and your beautiful Dad.
I want you to know how loved and wanted you are already. I want you to know that even though we won't always get everything 100% right that we 100% are trying our best to give you the best.
Right now your Dad knows that you'll be either a little boy or girl. M* insists you are her sister and that you are L* (100% the name we did choose for her BTW). I have a little feeling maybe you're a boy - but I will be so happy regardless, I just can't wait to meet you! Why do I feel like you're a boy? Well you seem to be sitting (and kicking) a lot lower than your sister, but who knows, I'm looking forward to finding out though!
More later, back to watching the lava explode!
Xxx
*When my kids were young I choose not to share photos of their faces or my kid’s names publicly til they’re old enough to make that decision for themselves, that’s why their names are represented with just letters here.
