call for creative/historical project ideas (for 1 year of Living in the Bay in 2026)

i’m moving to the Bay for one year (my 3rd year of medical school, aka “rotations”, aka a famously hell-ish year of medical training). I want to do some type of daily or weekly project to chronicle the state of the Bay right now from the perspective of tech-religiosity, group thinking, ethical clinical perspective, world perception, etc.

2026 will be a turning point year. With more and more built-up energy (either about the AI Bubble and its potential sudden collapse or longitudinal deflation, or about AGI’s final crack by these large companies rushing towards something so conceptual to the average layman) the next 16 months I anticipate huge changes in community energy, advertisement style, financial movement, and phenomenal Belief.

This turning point will be historically relevant to the whole of American industry, to the progression and philosophy of technology/tools, and to the study of how humans gather and work together to build something. Ultimately it will be important to the definition and aggregation of supposed intelligence.

So, how do I best record and capture whatever happens?

I have a unique opportunity for a time capsule of an Experience; I don’t want to miss the tangible creation I can mediate from it. I could create a daily vlog/blog- I’ll be primarily in the hospitals for clerkships, but hospitals are one of the best places to observe and genuinely see how a community is experiencing its external reality, not modified through marketing, false smiles, and social media. I could focus on art to express. I could conduct interviews or anonymous surveys. I love becoming part of a community, saying “yes and”, and going alone to events and places. I also love to be the vocal critic in a room, the only medical mind amongst tech people, and to look at each person I meet through the lens of cognitive science of religion/belief.

As a medical student, I’ve experienced many types of research: biomedical, sociological, longitudinal, acute, clinical, chart review, interviews, quantitative, qualitative, etc etc etc. As an artist, I’ve seen many modes of art which captures a Time: photography, painting, automatism sketches, poetry, self-portraits, digital media, physical construction, science-fiction, etc etc etc. The paths available are almost overwhelming, but at least signify with whatever time or evidence I begin to see, there will be an option which fits. I’m hoping to combine some mediums in a capacity, but that may be the Renaissance woman in me coming out again.
