Alzheimer’s is one of the fastest growing diseases in America, and yet most doctors still aren’t trained to catch it early when we can make the biggest difference.
I’ve lived through Alzheimer’s disease with two grandparents, one on each side of my family. At the time, there wasn’t much we could do beyond taking good care of them.
Today, we have deeper knowledge and better tools to treat and prevent Alzheimer’s. We know early action can protect you and save your family years of grief.
We also know how to solve problems at the health system level and get people the help they need sooner. But problems at this scale won’t get solved until people raise the volume.
Ahead of Alzheimer’s showcases the wisdom and experience of people on the frontlines of this disease who are finding solutions, fixing the system, and giving people reason to hope.
The show is hosted by the brilliant Emily Kaplan, a former ABC News investigative journalist and CEO and Co-founder of The Broken Science Initiative and MetFix. She leads deep, positive, enriching conversations on an array of topics and invites a broader audience to understand risk and act sooner.
You’ll hear from doctors and nurses who are taking care of people and designing better care models — including Dr. Jeff Burns, who chairs the Alzheimer’s Policy Working Group. Government leaders who are fighting to change the system. Researchers who are discovering brilliant new insights to help protect our minds. And most importantly, you’ll hear from patients and families who are living with this disease, and whose beautiful stories of perseverance have inspired me to put everything I have into this fight.
You can watch the show at AheadofAlzheimers.org and subscribe for updates on Substack and YouTube. Please share it with the people you love. Tell them what you’re learning, and that there is something we can do about Alzheimer’s. We have agency. We have hope. Together we can raise the volume and bring this disease out of the shadows and into the light.

It was an honor to help bring this show to life and participate as a guest.
