There are evenings when you feel exhausted, so you lie down.
Twenty minutes later, you somehow feel worse.
Your body feels stiff. Your mind is restless. You reach for your phone because doing nothing feels uncomfortable. An hour passes, and you are technically resting, but you do not feel restored.
Other times, you force yourself to exercise because you assume movement will help, only to realize halfway through that the body was asking for something gentler.
And sometimes neither movement nor lying down works because the real problem is not physical fatigue.
Your system has simply had too much input.
Too much noise.
Too many screens.
Too much conversation.
Too many decisions.
Too much information.
The difficulty is that all three states can feel like the same sentence:
I am tired.
But tiredness is not one thing.
Sometimes your body needs movement.
Sometimes it needs rest.
Sometimes it needs less stimulation.
Learning to tell the difference can make recovery much more effective.
