four months ago, i was a different person. i was depressed, constantly sad, unhealthy, and always angry. i felt like i was starving for something i couldn’t name. i’m 21 and i feel like i’ve stepped onto an entirely new path now.

i’ve been practicing shifts in my consciousness for two months, and the changes haven’t just been mental. they’ve been a complete overhaul of how i experience being alive. i want to share this because if it can change my life, it might just change yours too.

the shift in my own life

last week, something happened that would have destroyed the old me. my uncle a 1st class prison jailor, a man i loved more than my own father was murdered by drug addicts.

a few months ago, i would have been inconsolable. i would have been drowning in rage, grief and tears, just like the rest of my family who are still hurting. but when i heard the news, i didn’t cry. it wasn’t because i didn’t love him, but because i saw the event through a different lens. i realized that birth, living, and death are just the nature of things. i felt a sense of aloneness, but it wasn’t a heavy, painful feeling. it was just... quiet.

i don’t have anger toward the people who did it. i’m just calm. this is the next level i’m talking about.

people keep asking me what’s different, and it’s hard to put into words, but here is what i’ve found:

  • the happiness shift: this isn’t the beaming kind of happiness you get from a party or a pay raise. it’s a permanent, steady hum in the background. honestly? if someone walked up and gave me a billion dollars right now, i don’t think i’d feel any happier than i am in this moment. that’s how deep this goes.

  • a new kind of love: i’ve stopped picking favorites. i love everyone equally now. there’s no clinging, no drama, just a steady care for the people around me.

  • the power of being alone: i’m happy, and i’m alone. that used to sound like a contradiction, but now it’s my greatest strength. i don’t need external validation to feel complete.

  • physical health: when your mind stops fighting, your body follows. i’m healthier, i’m eating better, and i feel light.

  • i make sense: every piece of advice i give out, every thought of mine, every idea is logical. i have good answers. ( mind you I was a person who went to therapy)

i didn’t start with complex rituals. i just started undoing the knots in my mind.

  1. the 5 minute pause: every day, i sit and just watch my thoughts. i don’t judge them. i let them pass like traffic. i started noticing the silence between the thoughts. that’s where i found my base. i did this more than 5 times a day.

  2. the observer’s view: i practice being a spectator to my own life. whether i’m on the road, at university or dealing with family trauma, i step back and watch the “me” who is experiencing it. it stops the emotions from hijacking my nervous system. i observe my emotions, the words coming out of my mouth and my actions. I think before i speak. i think after every thought of mine.

"He who looks outside dreams; he who looks inside awakes." — Carl Gustav Jung

  3. accepting the flow: i remind myself that everything the good, the bad, the loss, and the gain is just the play of the universe. when you stop resisting, you stop suffering. life is meant to be this way.

you don’t have to be a monk or a genius to reach this. you just have to be willing to stop running on autopilot. it takes time, and it takes practice I’ve been doing this for two months, and i’m still learning.

people around me notice the change, too. they like the new me because i’m stable. i’m not a storm anymore.

if you’re feeling like the old me depressed, sad and angry.

know that there is a way out, and it’s not out there in the world. it’s right inside you. you just have to be still enough to find it.

everybody thinks your body, your brain is you. but the truth is your consciousness is the real you. Control it and you'll be untouchable. Think Think Think. Think between everything. think before you speak, think after you spoke, look at you. look within you.

then everything starts to make sense …..

no money, no promotion, no vacation, no love can beat this sense of happiness. (I guarantee you)

don’t waste this life on useless things.

you could be in the most peaceful place, that particular peace runs out after some time. But this could never…
