Since the half marathon, I’ve barely put on my running shoes. To be exact, just once for a 3.5 km run. Add 33°C on this sunny Friday evening, and you’ve got the perfect conditions for a 10K race. Not.
But after a tough week, we could both use a bit of distraction and a chance to clear our heads.
The course through Ludwigsburg is beautiful, but challenging.
We start fast and, by kilometre 7, we’re about 90 seconds ahead of our target time. But towards the end, the gravel, the elevation, and the heat get the better of us.
At just under 56 minutes, it’s not a personal best – but we had fun.
