Over the last couple of days, I watched 4+ hours of a Dan Kennedy training on making 7 figures.
Dan Kennedy is a living legend in copywriting & business strategy. The guy charges $18K per day to sit across from you and fix your business.
Interestingly, many of the things he said, I already know.
Doesn’t mean I do even half of them.
And true, some of them need to be repurposed for solopreneurs, but most are applicable.
I think I narrowed it down to two reasons:
I don’t pay attention to what I think is obvious. It’s so funny! Like hiding something in plain sight. The strategy is right there but you can’t believe it’s that easy. You expected something more shiny, probably. You think that’s too obvious. It isn’t.
Psychology. I’ve watched hundreds of hours of training videos in my solopreneur life and few had me tossing and turning at night. This one did. It just bugged me that after I nodded along to most of what he said, I still heard the same excuses in my head an hour later. “Can’t do that.” “Doesn’t fit the brand.” “No one will want it.” Blah blah blah.
The best way to overcome our own excuses and see what’s in plain sight is to talk to someone else. We’re always able to see others better than we can see ourselves.
