From Free and Fair (or not): “Votes can absolutely tick down when precincts correct double-scanned mail ballots. Maricopa 2020 lost 3,200 on audit for exactly that.”
Response from SMART Elections: Yes, but this isn’t an audit. These are votes being aggregated in real time. It would be odd for them to catch double-scanned ballots at this point.
A few thoughts from Urban Hermit:
“The notes you display are from a person you know little about” - We’re comfortable with the amount of contact we’ve had with Stephanie. We’ve had email and phone correspondence with her, and found her to be credible, and without an agenda.
“ … she copied the numbers from the TV. This is not a verifiable source.”

Response from SMART Elections: Absolutely possible. The problem is that because there is so little transparency with the vote count, we have no way of knowing if an error is something to be concerned about, or just a transcription error. These irregularities have to be investigated, and determined to be innocuous, or researched until understood.
Urban Hermit: “Please exercise caution to protect your credibility.”
Response from SMART Elections: This is really important to address. There is too much stigma around discussing election problems. Election problems exist. They are real. We must talk about our concerns.
These examples are not hand-written notes.
In 2022, Diane Sare ran for U.S. Senate, as an independent candidate in New York State.
Supporters recorded screenshots of her votes going down drastically as the votes came in and other candidates’ votes went up.
At 2:59am, Sare starts off in screenshots captured from The New York Times website with 51,554 votes. International media shows her at 53,091.
With 94% of the votes counted Sare’s votes have gone down to 29,954. The other candidates’ votes have gone up.
Sare ends with around 25,000 votes, half the votes she had earlier in the count.
