Bangalore has a good number of people from other parts of India, specifically from the Northeast. Here is me trying food from Nagaland.

The restaurant owner treated me to rice wine.

They had a boutique in the shop that sold Nagaland trinkets. Bought these for my wife and other girls. The seller asked if my wife and friends were healthy” to make sure if these would fit. Healthy” is an euphemism for large. She was satisfied when I said they are not too healthy.

And Mizo food too.

Bai, soup from Mizoram.

And the chilli.

The chilli made me burn. Luckily there was fan blowing top speed next to me.

Addresses are a hassle in India. House numbers are never in order, due to iterative building. This startup is trying to solve the findability problem.

Bata was the most popular shoe company 20 years back. Here they are tapping on nostalgia. The text says Childhood partner”.

Social media brain rot is an issue here too.

Was here for the local un-conference.

Posting topics and scheduling

Such un-conferences always throw up interesting things that people in the city are working on. Here is a presenter talking about his interest in book binding.

We got to handle the books and feel the binding. Here is Noble Binding.

This presenter looked at life as mini quests. Shared his stories of crashing events and participating in random activities like being a judge for the  best saree donned person at a shopping mall.

Data center woes are a popular topic here too.

A session on beetles was my favorite. The presenter is an amateur entomologist. I learned that cockroach is a beetle.

The correct” map of China, according to India. Our host was a policy think tank. They opened their office to us. I like such cities where people are helping each other learn.

Interesting to see people posting no AI tag on their presentations.

I shared about my travels in South East Asia and Vietnam. Vietnam is also becoming a popular destination for Indians. The nearby Starbucks had Vietnamese coffee to inspire me while I was jotting notes for my session.

This is from Rajasthan; I spent some childhood years here - from age 6 to 12.
