There is a full moon in Aquarius on July 29th. The sun is opposite in Leo. Jupiter in Leo is conjunct the sun, while Pluto in Aquarius is conjunct the moon. Neptune and Saturn have both gone retrograde in Aries. Chiron in Taurus will soon go retrograde, and the upcoming new moon in Leo next month will also be a solar eclipse.

There are two big drivers of this full moon, drivers meaning influences that are in the driver’s seat and more in control than you are. One is the Mercury retrograde in Cancer that ended last week but is still in its shadow and working its dark magic on you. The other is that Jupiter is sitting right on the Leo sun, while opposite, Pluto is sitting right on the Aquarius moon. Now Pluto in Aquarius is something we’ve been managing for a while now, but Jupiter in Leo is fresh and new for us.

~A mini astrology lesson: The shadow period of a retrograde lasts until the planet has exited the degrees of the retrograde. This recent Mercury retrograde went from 26 to 16 degrees of Cancer, so the shadow period extends until a direct Mercury makes it past 26 degrees. There is also the shadow period prior to the retrograde. In this case, the pre-retrograde shadow is from 16 to 26 degrees, then the retrograde occurs, moving backward from 26 to 16 degrees. Then the post-retrograde shadow is from 16 degrees to 26 degrees. Mercury treads over the section of Cancer from 16 to 26 degrees three times: during the shadow time before the retrograde, in reverse during the retrograde, and during the shadow time after the retrograde. We have three opportunities to experience that one span of sky and time and meaning. The first time, we are unaware of what the guidance is; the second, we experience the guidance; and the third time, we can integrate the guidance. We are in that third and final section now, during this full moon. Making this full moon a time not just of clarifying and releasing as it usually is, but a time of additional integration work. In Cancer, the answer and the solution is always care. The lesson is about how to enact it.

This retrograde has been especially intense, as I’m hearing anecdotally and also experiencing personally.
