Spring in Grand Teton National Park

Sarah and I made an impulse five-night camping trip up to Grand Teton National Park in the middle of May following a work commitment I had in Park City, Utah. In the Rocky Mountains, spring weather can be unsettled, and we had fleeting snow and below freezing temperatures during this quick trip (the temperature was 17 degrees when we woke up on the last morning).

Despite colder than expected temperatures, the early spring foliage was beautiful, with the aspens just starting to leaf out and the willows looking especially colorful. As inevitably happens when going to Grand Teton National Park, we ended up in Yellowstone National Park for a day as well.
