yelling while knitting, sassy ducks, and a tadpole spring

This week the World Cup kicked off, and I somehow forgot just how much I love watching a World Cup (men’s or women’s). I’m not sure if it’s seeing such different countries in matches together (thinking, Scotland and Haiti), or if it’s the entire world collectively hyped on something, or if it’s just the fun of me yelling “HE SCORED THAT OFF THE SIDE OF HIS BOOT!” while knitting.

Perhaps it’s all of it together. But did you see that USA vs Paraguay game last night?*

*I apologize ahead of time because this will be my whole personality for the next month.

We’re already deeply in the joy of it, so let’s keep it going, shall we? Here we go…

✿ The kids scaled rocks and discovered tadpoles while this duck gave us a piece of her mind. At first I wondered if she had babies around, but I think she was just sassy, and honestly, I’m in full support of that.

✿ Unfortunately, our tadpole friends from our walks didn’t make it. Their pond dried up. But somehow this puddle of water located in some tire tracks seems to be holding water just fine. And the tadpoles here finally hatched! Hard pass on hot girl summer, it’s going to be a tadpole spring for me.

✿ ‘Tis the season for pool knitting and you will not find me arguing.

✿ Don’t judge me by the state of my house. Judge me by the fervor with which I disagree with a ref. Like I said, this will be my whole personality.
