Hello hello, friends!
A huge weight has been lifted since I was finally able to share all the craziness that has been going on in our life since January. Read here to catch up on what the hecko happened to our dream multigenerational home. 🫣
It just feels really good to get it off my chest. I have been holding onto a lot of sadness/anger/resentment towards the inspector and previous owners of our home. But hey, at least I can express myself now and make content out of it that hopefully helps some people? 🤷🏻♀️
I am working on a post sharing red flags/things to look out for if you’re buying or renovating a home (let me know if you have any questions)! Mold was always one of my biggest fears in a home, and somehow we ended up facing the literal worst-case scenario. Eeep. But, I am really glad we uncovered it before we moved all of our things in. We did live there from January-March, and so we had to throw out the mattresses/play couch we had kept there… but I’m just glad it was just a small amount of our belongings for a temporary stay.
Now, my intention heading into fall is to allow myself to get inspired and feel excited and happy about this renovation again! And to remind myself, what a privilege it is that we are able to still renovate despite the major setbacks.
While I am so excited to start on all of the fun parts from seeing the pretty tiles and flooring and lighting… I can’t help but feel like this…
Especially after such a big chunk of our reno budget has now gone poof to mold remediation and more not-pretty-not-fun things. But, what I’m telling myself is that this is the home we are supposed to live in for hopefully many, many happy years… so it’s not the time to cut corners.
While the responsible move would be to scale back on the pretty things after taking the mold hit, I just don’t feel like being the responsible one right now. So — write the check (metaphorically-speaking, bc your girl doesn’t have checks). And… then cover your eyes.
That’s how I’m coping... that, and a heaping slice of YOLO. Sometimes you just have to slap on those blinders and try not to overthink it. I’m not letting this terrible mold saga take the joy out of creating the multi-generational home we had planned.
I’m in yet another season of surrender, and kind of just doing a trust fall into the universe. I must admit it feels good to let things float and trust it will all be okay in the end.
Thank you for reading the rattlings of my brain today. Til next week x

I’m just gonna go for it.
Not every decision needs to be sensible, responsible, or perfectly thought out. Sometimes, you just gotta do what you want to do and let the rest work itself out.
✨ My favorite fashionsita — I love every single thing @itsyourgirlsamanthaaa wears. Literally her entire style is my dream. It’s sporty but elevated and chic… comfortable and beautiful. She just knows how to put it all together so well! She also has the best shoe and bag collection.
📱Your phone is making you tired — Does your brain feels like it has 37 tabs open? This article explains why. Constantly going between texts, email, Slack, socials, recipes, and articles can burn through our cognitive resources and leave us foggy, distracted, and completelyyyy exhausted. Read on for simple reset (and may I suggest… BRICK!).
🤎 Loving — Cheers to a healthy nervous system…
Me preparing for our netflix documentary about how we bought our dream multi-gen home, only to discover extensive black mold, category 3 water damage, and that we’d have to gut nearly everything…
