💰 Reliance on sponsor money? 🇮🇱 Eurovision’s principal sponsor since 2020 is in fact an Israeli company “MoroccanOil” - which is already a BDS target company2. Reason enough to boycott the competition even if Israel weren’t competing. How much sway would a sponsor have in keeping Israel in the competition? 🤔
And Israel cheats - so badly last year in an Israeli Government-funded campaign that they had to change the rules. Yet they were caught doing again this year trying to influence the public vote3.
It figures when Israel is spending $730M on hasbara this year4 - Eurovision is a huge return on investment in particular if they can secure hosting the competition in Israel with a win.
A song contest soaked in hypocrisy deserves a boycott.
You can’t normalize the monstrous crimes of Israel or artwash the killing of tens of thousands of civilians including 20,000 children in Gaza never mind the pre-planned broader middle east aggression.
A death penalty for one ethnic group only is tantamount to murder.
Israel should be banned from every sporting and cultural arena as apartheid-era South Africa was.
