The Power Broker Live, Part 2

Robert Moses built so. Much. Stuff. More than anyone else in U.S. history. In Part Two, I explore what he built: the parks, highways, cultural centers, and public housing New Yorkers still live with today. And I try to get at why he built $250 billion of infrastructure. You don’t need to have seen Part One or read the book to enjoy the recording, which is from a sold-out show in March.

I’m back on stage on July 14th with Part One and Three Quarters. (Tickets here.) It weaves together the best of Parts One and Two, so newcomers can get caught up on the series. If you caught both earlier shows, there’s still plenty you haven’t seen: Jane Jacobs’ showdown with Moses in Washington Square Park, a deeper look into Moses’ strange family life, and one or two things I’ve since learned our hero, Robert Caro, got wrong.

The conclusion to the trilogy is coming in September and October. Now, to memorizing 7,000 words about NYC history.
