We found out last year we had a friend getting married at the famous Villa Cimbrone in Ravello, Italy in July 2026 and, first had to look up where Ravello is on the map. Once we discovered it’s 15 minutes north of Amalfi, we said “perfect, we’re making a trip out of it.” We went to the Amalfi Coast once when we were younger. We did a family cruise back in 2014 (I think) and docked at Positano for the day. I don’t remember much, but I think it was super crowded. Anyway, all that to say, we were excited to go back to Amalfi Coast with adult eyes (and tastebuds). We spent 4 days in Ravello and 3 in Capri, however we would’ve stayed longer if we could in both cities. We also did a day trip to Positano and Nerano.
Ravello is a tiny town high above the coastline of Amalfi, which means you get all of the insane views without being directly in the chaos of the port. It is more of a mountain town than a beach town, but that ended up being exactly why we loved it. You are either lounging at a pool with magnificent views or you have to get driven down to a private beach lido. Our hotel (Palazzo Avino) had one that we were obsessed with.
