Norfolk OPP nab theft suspects; seek help identifying scooter thieves
Two men are facing charges as the result of a theft investigation.
Norfolk County OPP responded just before 6 a.m. on Wednesday, August 19 to a Davis Street East address where two people were seen removing items from a scrap metal and electronic waste donation bin. The bin is operated by the Simcoe Firefighters’ Association to raise money for community projects.

The suspects were stopped by police as they tried to leave the area in a vehicle and were taken into custody.
A 39-year-old Burlington man has been charged with theft under $5,000, while a 40-year-old Haldimand County man faces charges for theft under $5,000 and breach of a conditional sentence order.
Scooter stolen in Simcoe
Police are asking for the public’s help to identify two suspects who allegedly stole a scooter.
Norfolk County OPP were called to a Kent Street South address just after 2 a.m. on Wednesday, August 19, when it was reported that two unidentified persons stole a black GOTRAX electric scooter and fled southbound.
The suspects are described as a Caucasian female about 5’8” to 5’10” tall, wearing a purple sweater; and a Caucasian male about 6-feet in height wearing all black clothing.

Two charged with break and enter
Norfolk County OPP took two men into custody in the midst of a break-and-enter incident.
Police were called to a Hillcrest Road property at about 3:03 p.m. on Tuesday, August 18, to a reported break-and-enter.
Officers found two suspects who had allegedly gained entry to a building and stole items.
Two Norfolk County men, ages 30 and 54, have both been charged with break, enter a place – commit indictable offence; theft under $5,000; and fail to comply with probation order.
