Passive-Aggressive Control Freaks

If there is one thing I detest even more than incorrect criticism from my intellectual inferiors, it is the Control Retard. This is usually, though not always, a man, who wants to try to force other people to say things that they obviously and observably don’t want to articulate for one reason or another. Before anyone leaps to conclusions, it’s not just a Gamma thing, because I’ve seen Deltas and Omegas do it too, although it is possible that the Deltas are just too narcissistic and the Omegas are too clueless to even realize what they are doing.

The reason this behavior is so despicable is because it’s totally disrespectful of the other person’s perspective and shows absolutely no regard for them. Maybe the other person has a very good reason for not spelling something out. Maybe it’s just not their style. Maybe they don’t want to appear to be beating a dead horse because they have repeatedly addressed the subject in detail and they don’t want to repeat themselves.

Or maybe they are just a coward and don’t want to take the anticipated heat for their true opinions.

Regardless, the extent to which a point is made is the speaking individual’s call, not the passive-aggressive control freak’s.

Now, I understand that a) the Gammas will hide their malicious intentions behind their endless “need for clarification” and b) the Deltas might actually not grasp what the person was saying and c) the Omegas might not have any idea what’s going on in the first place. But regardless of their rationales, all of them should be able to understand this simple principle:

If I wanted to state the obvious out loud, I would have done so.

And if you understood the unstated obvious, or even if you think you probably did, then any demand on your part for further explication and elucidation is about you, it’s not about either the subject matter or the other person.

So the next time someone says something and leaves out what you consider to be the obvious, just nod your head and respect their circumspection. Whatever their reasons might be, it is not for you to judge them, much less try to force them to say the quiet part out loud.
