Sifu Yik Chan · Sifu Yik's Substack

Copy paste any of these into Veo, Sora, Kling, Runway, Pika, or Seedance. Swap the bracket and hit generate.

Every strong prompt has five parts, no matter which app you use.

  1. The Shot: how the camera moves (dolly, pan, push in, drone, static)

  2. The Subject and Action: who or what, and what they are doing

  3. The Context: where it happens and what is around them

  4. The Style and Light: mood, color, lens, time of day

  5. The Audio or Dialogue: sound effects or exact spoken lines in quotes

Skip a part and the AI guesses. Guessing is where boring, blurry, or broken clips come from.

  • Copy the prompt exactly first, then swap in your own [subject], [product], [brand], [location], or [dialogue]

  • Change only ONE thing per test, camera OR subject OR light, never all three at once

  • Keep the main action to one clear thing, AI video clips are short

  • Use 9:16 for Reels and Shorts, use 16:9 for YouTube and ads

  • Put spoken lines in quotation marks and say who is speaking

  • Describe sound on its own line if audio matters to the shot

  • These prompts use plain descriptive language on purpose, so they run on Veo, Sora, Kling, Runway, Pika, or Seedance without editing

1. Rain Soaked Alley Walk

Prompt:

A slow dolly shot follows [subject] walking through a rain soaked neon alley at night, puddles reflecting the signs above, shallow depth of field, realistic film grain, soft rain and distant traffic hum.

Why it works: naming the camera move plus one clear light source (the neon) gives the model an easy path to follow, so the shot stays sharp instead of smearing.

2. Sunrise Village Reveal

Prompt:

Wide establishing shot of a small mountain village at sunrise, morning mist drifting between wooden houses, warm light touching the snowy peaks, camera slowly rising like a crane, birds calling and a gentle breeze.

Why it works: starting wide then rising up gives the AI a simple, single direction of motion, which almost every generator handles cleanly.

3. Match Strike Reveal

Prompt:

Extreme close up of a match striking in a dark room, sparks briefly lighting [subject]’s face, macro lens detail, dramatic shadow and light contrast, quiet room tone with a faint ticking clock.

Why it works: one strong light source in a tight macro shot is far easier for AI to render in focus than a wide dark room with many light sources.

4. Coastal Drive Golden Hour

Prompt:

Tracking shot alongside a vintage car driving a coastal road at golden hour, ocean cliffs in the background, warm low sun casting long shadows, realistic engine sound and distant waves.

Why it works: a side tracking shot next to a moving vehicle gives clear, steady directional motion that most video models render smoothly.

5. Space Station Emergency Push In

Prompt:

Slow push in on an astronaut alone inside a damaged station, emergency lights flickering across the helmet visor, dust floating in zero gravity, realistic sci fi detail, distant alarms and heavy breathing.

Why it works: the flickering light is named directly, so the AI treats it as an intentional effect instead of glitching the whole frame.

6. Subway Violin Documentary

Prompt:

Handheld documentary style shot follows a street violinist playing under a subway entrance in light rain, commuters passing naturally, muted realistic colors, ambient crowd sound and live violin audio.

Why it works: handheld plus documentary style tells the AI to keep motion loose and natural, which matches real street footage better than a locked shot would.

7. Desert City Sunrise Reveal

Prompt:

Sweeping aerial shot reveals an ancient desert city rising from the dunes at sunrise, camel caravans moving between the buildings, golden haze in the air, epic scale, wind and distant temple bells.

Why it works: aerial plus golden haze gives the model one unified light source across a huge scene, keeping the whole shot consistent instead of patchy.

8. Empty Theater Curtain Open

Prompt:

Locked off wide shot of an empty theater as the curtains slowly open on their own, dust visible inside a single spotlight beam, eerie silence, soft creaking fabric and low room tone.

Why it works: a locked camera with only one moving element (the curtain) is the easiest setup for AI to keep stable and glitch free.

9. Firefighter Smoke Walk

Prompt:

Low angle tracking shot follows a firefighter walking through smoke after a rescue, gear reflecting the orange emergency lights, gritty realistic detail, sirens fading and heavy breathing.

Why it works: naming the reflective gear tells the AI exactly how light should bounce, which keeps the character looking solid inside the smoke.

10. Station Reunion Circle Shot

Prompt:

Slow circular camera move around two old friends hugging at a train station after years apart, emotional expressions, warm evening light, shallow depth of field, realistic station ambience and soft music swelling.

Why it works: naming the emotion alongside the camera path helps the AI hold facial detail steady through the whole circular move.

11. Tiny Chef Giant Pancake

Prompt:

Vertical video of a tiny chef flipping a giant pancake inside a miniature kitchen, quick playful cuts, warm studio lighting, sizzling sounds and fast upbeat pacing built for social feeds.

Why it works: the size contrast (tiny chef, giant food) is an instant scroll stopping visual that needs no explanation in the first second.

12. Street Noodle Sizzle Reel

Prompt:

Vertical street food reel showing spicy noodles cooked from scratch, extreme close ups on ingredients, rising steam, a dramatic sauce pour, crisp sizzling ASMR sound throughout.

Why it works: close up food texture with real sound is proven to hold attention longer than wide shots, because viewers feel like they are tasting it.

13. Bedroom To Gaming Room Snap

Prompt:

Vertical transformation shot from a messy bedroom into a glowing futuristic gaming setup, objects snapping smoothly into place, energetic RGB lighting, upbeat electronic music driving the cut.

Why it works: the before and after format gives viewers a reason to watch until the end, which boosts completion rate on every platform.

14. Hidden Waterfall Hike Reel

Prompt:

Vertical travel reel following a backpacker down a hidden jungle trail, quick cuts between hiking, splashing through water, and the final waterfall reveal, vivid colors, adventurous driving music.

Why it works: the reveal at the end is the payoff that makes people watch twice, which is exactly what the algorithm rewards.

15. One Outfit Three Ways Reel

Prompt:

Vertical fashion reel showing one outfit restyled three different ways on a rooftop, smooth quick transitions, confident poses, clean editorial lighting, upbeat rhythmic music.

Why it works: showing variety from one item feels useful and shareable, which is why “one item, three ways” formats consistently get saved and sent.

16. Molten Glass Sculpt Close Up

Prompt:

Vertical satisfying video of molten glass being shaped into a delicate object, macro close ups, glowing orange reflections, slow precise movements, crisp shaping and cooling sounds.

Why it works: slow, precise motion with a satisfying texture is the exact formula behind viral “oddly satisfying” content.

17. Talking Mug Motivation Skit

Prompt:

Vertical comedy skit where a tired office worker discovers their coffee mug giving loud motivational speeches, realistic office lighting, deadpan reactions, comedic pause before the punchline.

Why it works: absurd premise plus a completely serious human reaction is the core structure of most viral comedy clips.

18. Rusty Bike Restore Reel

Prompt:

Vertical before and after video restoring a rusted old bicycle into polished chrome, fast satisfying restoration close ups, workshop sounds, timelapse style pacing.

Why it works: restoration content triggers a satisfying transformation payoff, which keeps average watch time high.

19. Rain City Electric Car Reel

Prompt:

Vertical showcase of a sleek electric car gliding through a rain soaked city at night, neon reflecting off the wet paint, low camera angles, deep bass driven sound design.

Why it works: naming “neon reflecting off wet paint” gives the AI a specific, repeatable visual detail that reads as premium instead of generic.

20. Robot Street Interview Reel

Prompt:

Vertical street interview where a humanlike robot answers everyday questions from strangers downtown, natural handheld camera, genuinely funny deadpan timing, clean crisp dialogue audio.

Why it works: the street interview format already performs well organically, and adding a robot host gives it a fresh, shareable twist.

21. Floating Smartwatch Reveal

Prompt:

Premium ad shot of [product] floating above a dark reflective surface, slow rotation, precise rim lighting catching every edge, soft studio reflections, quiet luxurious ambient tone.

Why it works: a slow rotation on a dark background is the industry standard hero shot because it shows every angle without needing multiple takes.

22. Coffee Bean Drop Ad

Prompt:

Cinematic ad for [brand], fresh roasted coffee beans falling into a grinder, macro shots of espresso pouring and steam rising, warm amber lighting, rich cafe ambience.

Why it works: macro texture shots of food or drink trigger a sensory response that static product photos cannot match.

23. Messy Dashboard Fix Ad

Prompt:

Clean software ad where a cluttered chaotic dashboard smoothly reorganizes into clear simple insights, modern glass style interface motion, subtle confident electronic sound.

Why it works: showing the “before” pain point first makes the “after” solution feel instantly satisfying to the viewer.

24. Dawn Sprint Sneaker Ad

Prompt:

Premium ad shot of a runner sprinting through a futuristic city at dawn wearing [product], low angle tracking camera, crisp detail on every step, dramatic rim light, energetic footstep audio.

Why it works: a low angle tracking shot on moving feet makes product detail feel powerful and in motion rather than static.

25. Smoke And Stone Perfume Ad

Prompt:

Luxury ad for [product], glass bottle resting on black stone surrounded by drifting white smoke and water droplets, macro cinematography, soft rim light, elegant ambient music.

Why it works: smoke and droplets give the AI natural, slow moving texture to render, which reads as high end without needing complex motion.

26. Tunnel To Mountain Car Ad

Prompt:

Cinematic ad for [brand], a sleek vehicle exits a dark tunnel into a bright open mountain landscape, smooth tracking shot, crisp reflections on the paint, uplifting orchestral swell.

Why it works: the dark to light transition is a simple but powerful visual metaphor that reads as “breakthrough” without saying a word.

27. Living Room To Skyline Ad

Prompt:

Real estate ad, camera glides from a modern living room out onto a balcony overlooking a sunset skyline, smooth continuous movement, warm natural light, calm premium background music.

Why it works: one continuous camera move from inside to outside sells the feeling of space better than two separate cut shots would.

28. Precision Plating Restaurant Ad

Prompt:

Restaurant ad for [brand], a chef plates a signature dish with extreme precision, macro camera movement across the food, steam and glossy textures, dark moody studio lighting, subtle kitchen sound.

Why it works: watching precise hand movement in close up creates a craftsmanship feeling that makes the dish look worth paying for.

29. Calendar Chaos To Clean Ad

Prompt:

Cinematic travel ad for [brand], a couple arrives at a tropical resort, drone style opening shot, bright turquoise water, warm sunlight, gentle wave sounds, relaxed acoustic music.

Why it works: the drone opening immediately signals “escape” and “scale,” which is exactly the feeling travel ads need to sell in the first two seconds.

31. Rotating Phone Studio Shot

Prompt:

[Product] rotating slowly above a glass table in a dark studio, screen glow illuminating the surface below, precise clean reflections, cool rim lighting, minimal premium tech style.

Why it works: the glow from the screen doubling as the light source is a small detail that makes the whole shot feel intentional and expensive.

32. Holographic Desk Device

Prompt:

Compact [product] on a minimalist desk glowing softly as holographic data appears above it, slow push in camera, cool blue lighting, subtle electronic hum.

Why it works: the slow push in builds anticipation before the hologram appears, which mimics real product reveal videos people already trust.

33. Floating Headphones Particles

Prompt:

[Product] floating in a dark studio with fine particles drifting around it, macro detail on the ear cushions and metal finish, dramatic side lighting, clean crisp ambient sound.

Why it works: floating particles give the AI subtle background motion so the shot never looks frozen, even though the product itself is still.

34. Robot Arm Keyboard Build

Prompt:

A mechanical keyboard being assembled piece by piece by robotic arms, macro close ups on every keycap, metallic textures, satisfying clicking sounds, cinematic workshop ambience.

Why it works: watching an object build itself piece by piece is naturally satisfying and works as both an ad and standalone social content.

35. Transparent Laptop Power Up

Prompt:

[Product] opening on a futuristic desk, interface lights activating in sequence across the transparent screen, smooth camera orbit, cool white lighting, minimalist premium tone.

Why it works: lights activating “in sequence” gives the AI a clear order of events, which keeps the animation coherent instead of flashing randomly.

36. Smart Room Auto Response

Prompt:

Smart home scene where lights, blinds, and climate control respond automatically as [subject] walks into the room, smooth room to room camera move, warm modern ambience.

Why it works: tying every automation to the person’s movement makes the tech feel responsive and alive rather than like a static demo reel.

37. Trail Cam Bike Descent

Prompt:

Rugged action camera view mounted on a mountain bike racing down a rocky trail, dust kicking up, sharp turns, realistic vibration, natural wind sound throughout.

Why it works: describing the vibration and dust tells the AI to keep the shot slightly imperfect, which reads as authentic action footage instead of a smooth fake.

38. Luxury Floor Robot Vacuum

Prompt:

[Product] gliding through a luxury apartment at floor level camera height, polished floor reflections, playful confident advertising tone, subtle mechanical hum.

Why it works: shooting from floor level puts the viewer at the robot’s own perspective, which is a simple trick that makes small products feel cinematic.

39. Glowing Blueprint Tablet Draw

Prompt:

A digital tablet drawing a glowing architectural blueprint in real time, close up on the stylus movement, realistic glass reflections, elegant clean studio lighting.

Why it works: “in real time” cues the AI to draw the lines progressively rather than pasting a finished image, which keeps the motion believable.

40. Assistant Projects 3D Model

Prompt:

[Product] projecting a rotating 3D model above the desk, cinematic blue lighting, detailed quiet room ambience, soft electronic tones.

42. Strawberry Dip Chain

Prompt:

Fresh strawberries dipped one by one into dark melted chocolate, close up camera, bright natural highlights, shallow depth of field, crisp dipping sound and quiet kitchen ambience.

Why it works: repeating the same small action (dip, dip, dip) creates a rhythm that is naturally calming and easy to watch on loop.

43. Steaming Ramen Lift

Prompt:

A bowl of steaming ramen on a wooden table, chopsticks slowly lifting the noodles, visible rising steam, warm restaurant lighting, detailed broth texture and natural food sounds.

Why it works: visible steam is one of the strongest food cues for AI generators, since it signals heat and freshness without any extra explanation.

44. Oven Fresh Croissant Layers

Prompt:

Golden croissants pulled fresh from a bakery oven, macro shot revealing flaky layers as it is torn, warm orange light, soft oven sound and pastry ambience.

Why it works: the moment of tearing reveals texture the AI can render in fine detail, which is far more satisfying than a static whole croissant shot.

45. Rhythmic Mango Slice

Prompt:

A chef slicing a perfectly ripe mango in smooth rhythmic motions, colorful vivid close ups, bright kitchen light, crisp knife and fruit sound.

Why it works: rhythmic repeated motion is easier for AI to keep consistent across the clip than one complex single action.

46. Sushi Precision Build

Prompt:

Fresh sushi assembled piece by piece by a skilled chef, extreme close ups on texture and precision, cool restaurant lighting, subtle kitchen ambience.

Why it works: precision hand movement filmed close up reads as expertise, which builds trust in a food brand without a single word of copy.

47. Caramel Over Ice Cream

Prompt:

Hot caramel poured slowly over a scoop of vanilla ice cream, slow macro shot, glossy melting texture, warm highlights, delicate spoon sound, quiet cafe ambience.

Why it works: the contrast of hot caramel against cold ice cream gives the AI a clear visual story (melting) to animate convincingly.

48. Wood Fire Pizza Pull

Prompt:

A fresh pizza pulled from a wood fired oven, cheese bubbling and stretching as it is sliced, warm orange lighting, crackling fire sound in the background.

Why it works: the cheese stretch is one of the most requested and most satisfying food visuals, and naming it directly helps the AI commit to that motion.

49. Torn Bread Steam Reveal

Prompt:

Fresh bread torn open by hand, steam escaping from the center, detailed crust texture, warm bakery lighting, crisp tearing sound and soft room tone.

Why it works: steam escaping the moment it is torn gives an instant sense of freshness that a still photo of bread could never sell.

50. Sunrise Fruit Plate Pour

52. Misty Pine Trail Walk

Prompt:

Slow hiking shot moving through a misty pine forest at sunrise, golden light rays cutting between the trees, boots crunching damp leaves, peaceful mood, birds and soft wind.

Why it works: naming light rays cutting through mist gives the AI a very specific atmosphere cue that instantly elevates a plain forest scene.

53. Iceland Falls Viewpoint

Prompt:

Wide shot of a powerful waterfall under cloudy skies, a lone traveler approaching the viewpoint, mist drifting through the cold air, realistic detail, powerful rushing water sound.

Why it works: the traveler in frame gives scale to the waterfall, which helps the AI keep proportions believable instead of oddly sized.

54. Dune Road Sunset Drive

Prompt:

60. Seoul Night Food Montage

Prompt:

A fast paced night travel montage through the city, handheld shots of food stalls, subway entrances, and glowing neon streets, energetic pacing, natural crowd sound throughout.

Why it works: montage style prompts work well because each quick cut resets the AI’s job to a short, simple shot instead of one long complex scene.

61. Cloud Sea Floating Castle

Why it works: reflections in puddles double every neon light in frame, making a simple alley feel like a much bigger, richer set.

64. Dragon Frozen Ridge Landing

Prompt:

71. Rooftop Sunset Hero Stance

Prompt:

Why it works: exaggerated expressions are a strong visual anchor that keeps a chibi character readable even during fast playful camera movement.

78. Waterfall Painterly Princess

Prompt:

A painterly style fantasy princess stands beside a waterfall in an enchanted forest, flowing dress caught in the breeze, soft glowing light particles, slow camera push in, gentle orchestral score.

Why it works: light particles drifting in the air give a painterly style AI clip texture and depth that a flat background would lack.

79. Bamboo Storm Samurai Walk

Prompt:

A stylized samurai walks through a bamboo forest during a storm, rain and leaves moving dramatically around him, low angle tracking shot, cinematic composition, distant thunder.

Why it works: moving leaves and rain give the whole frame constant motion, which keeps a slow walking shot from ever feeling frozen.

80. Retro Arcade Neon Rush

Prompt:

Prompt:

Medium shot in a quiet interrogation room. Detective says, “I already know what happened.” Suspect replies, “Then why are you asking me.” Audio: ticking clock, light rain, low room tone.

Why it works: giving both characters one short, sharp line each keeps the dialogue clean enough for AI lip sync to render accurately.

Why it works: a warm, simple life lesson line gives the whole clip an emotional hook that outlasts the visual itself.

96. City Keeps Secrets Voiceover

Prompt:

A detective walks through a dark city and says in voiceover, “Every city keeps a few secrets.” Audio: footsteps, rain, distant traffic, low cinematic score.

Why it works: using voiceover instead of on screen dialogue avoids lip sync issues entirely while still delivering a strong line.

97. Three Two One Launch

Prompt:

A science teacher demonstrates a small rocket in a schoolyard. She says, “Three, two, one, launch.” Audio: students cheering, ignition roar, wind.

98. Worth Every Step View

Prompt:

A traveler on a mountain says, “We came all this way for this view.” A friend replies, “And it was worth every step.” Audio: strong wind, birds, valley ambience.

Why it works: a silly, relatable debate with no real stakes is endlessly shareable because everyone has an opinion and wants to comment theirs.

  • Always write the camera move first, the AI reads your first few words as the most important instruction

  • Use real materials and textures like “brushed steel” or “wet concrete” instead of vague words like “nice” or “cool”

  • Keep every prompt to two to four sentences, longer prompts confuse the model more than they help

  • If a clip fails, change only the weakest part (camera, subject, or light) and regenerate, do not rewrite the whole prompt

  • Repeat the same subject description across multiple clips if you want the same character to look consistent

  • Write dialogue in quotes and name the speaker so lip sync tools know exactly who is talking

  • Describe sound on its own line when audio matters, most tools treat it as a separate instruction

  • Test one prompt on two different tools before you commit to a full content batch

  • Save every prompt that worked in a personal swipe file, reusing proven structures beats writing from scratch every time

  • Match your aspect ratio to your platform before you generate, fixing this after the fact wastes your credits

Nobody has a secret AI video tool that makes perfect content by accident.

Every clip you have seen go viral started as a plain, boring sentence.

The people getting the best results are not more creative than you.

They just describe the camera, the subject, the light, and the sound, every single time, without skipping a step.

That is the whole trick.

Anyone copying and pasting these 100 prompts today has the exact same starting point as someone who has been doing this for a year.

  1. Pick one prompt from the list above that matches your content style

  2. Copy it exactly as written before changing anything

  3. Replace only the bracketed word with your own subject, product, or dialogue

  4. Choose 9:16 if you are posting to Reels or Shorts, or 16:9 for YouTube

  5. Generate one version and watch it fully before judging it

  6. If something feels off, change only one part of the prompt and try again

  7. Once you get a clip you like, save the exact prompt text somewhere safe

  8. Post it, then come back and test the next prompt on the list

You do not need to be a filmmaker to make video that looks like it belongs on a big screen. You need a clear sentence with a camera, a subject, a light, and a sound. These 100 prompts already have that built in, so all you have left to do is press generate.
