Instead of celebrating your win, suddenly they have an endless list of opinions, backhanded compliments, or advice meant to knock you down a peg. You might hear phrases like “She’s changed” or “He thinks he’s too good for us now”.
When God begins to elevate your life, divine progress naturally stirs up spiritual friction that pulls back the curtain on counterfeit companions who were never truly for you to begin with.
Genesis 26:12–14 “Isaac planted crops in that land and the same year reaped a hundredfold, because the Lord blessed him... He had so many flocks and herds and servants that the Philistines envied him.”
The Philistines didn’t have a problem with Isaac while he was struggling to build. The problem arose only when the fruits of his labor became visible
