Sam and his rocket - The SamX
Weeknote 50 means we have only 2 weeks left till end of year - geez. Anyhu
This week was a miserable week, health wise. The sickness took full swing and is now in its second innings with my usual allergic cough. I just hope my cough doesn’t decide to put partnership like Dravid and Laxman (Yes, that was a cricket reference. Yes, I made it. No, this is not a sign that I am in trouble).
Hopefully all the strength training translates into something that the immune system can use to fight back. Maybe do a pull up or two in front of the viruses to scare them off. Who knows 🤷🏻
I worked from home from Tuesday onwards, in bursts, wherever I could - body allowing. I had to skip my Wednesday and Friday gym sessions under the advise of the doc as well.
I started feeling better by Saturday and Prasanna and I went on a long two wheeler ride across Mylapore and RA Puram. The streets of Mylapore feel different now, without my FIL. Having lived there for a large majority of his life, he owned it like no other person I’ve known (Maybe Prasanna is a close second to this).
We had peanut sundal from our favourite spot and headed back home, picking up a Christmas star enroute home. I need to put it up tomorrow so that we’re able to carry forward the tradition that we picked up from her home. FIL and MIL would keep a crib as well, but we’ve just picked up the star tradition from them.
We watched The Girlfriend and it was a wonderful watch. I had some issues with the casting choices, but overall the movie was a 4 star experience for me.
It highlights a very important issue that needs to be spoken about in this day and age where hyper masculinity is making a raging comeback (pun intended).
This morning, we went to do a bit of shopping for Strength Tales with Muthu and then went back to his space and had a few wonderful rounds of cricket. I don’t know how long its been since I held a bat and ball but it was absolutely awesome. We had such a great time.
Our dear friends had come home as they had registered for a two person workshop with Prasanna. While they were busy, I was brainstorming up a small piece of tech that I want to build out for Strength Tales.
MIL had made some really yummy channa masala - we all had that with rotis and naans that we ordered from outside. We enjoyed a few songs and they headed home for the night.
Another week begins tomorrow - I head back into office, but before that - the gym! I hope that all the talking at $WORK doesn’t cause too much of aggravation in my cough (Historically it has, but let’s see)
Till next week 👋🏻
