This was the week that Strongerr went live. It was nice to see people use the application and interact with it.
I absolutely love the statement:
Customers don’t know what they want until you put it in their hand.
And that’s what I’ve always observed. There was a bunch of putty tinkering to do on Strongerr as I saw it being used. And that’s what most of my weeknights went into this week.
But as I’m writing this, I think that I’m in a position to say that it is decently stable enough at this point.
After running it for a month, I intend to start talking to others about it, to see if they’d be interested to buy it for their gyms too!
Prasanna was invited to the Madras School of Social Work this week to speak about her grief and more specifically about how her art has helped her navigate through it.
So she and I sat down and worked on the content of her talk. I still cannot believe that we both sat together, and wrote words about her father not being a part of this world anymore.
What a fucked up thing to write about. All through writing it, all I could think of was why could that man just not be here, with us, and rid us of this necessity to write about him or even talk about him in the past tense? Wouldn’t life be much easier that way?
As I think I’ve written about it before - my heart swells in pride when I see Prasanna channel her grief so positively but it absolutely sinks immediately at the sadness of even having to do it in the first place. One emotion just doesn’t exist without the other anymore for me.
Needless to say, she aced it, despite it being her first public speaking experience. Around 40 students heard her out and had a wonderful Q&A after it (I believe).
I still remember many moons ago, how we sat down on the bed one day, she being so fed up with all the shallow things that society threw at her in guise of ‘making her feel good’ and she said “I want to change the language around grief”.
I sit her today, writing this, marvelling at her grit because I truly believe that she’s already started doing it.
What a woman I live with. What a woman he raised.
We went back to North East Kitchen in Adyar with 2 friends this week, to try more dishes (we had gone there last week too) and it was amazing.
HIGHLY recommend trying their egg fried rice and naga chilly potatoes. Yum! 🤤
Making some amazing progress through Mistborn. What a book it has been thus far. The characters are so well written and so well motivated.
I picked apart my ZSA Moonlander on Sunday to clean it up and did it with Mistborn in my ear - and I just didn’t even notice the hour whiz past.
A rather mundane week otherwise, I think. A lot of rinse-dry-repeat of life.
Till next week 👋🏻
