One Good Idea - the CEAM podcast

Dr. Tiffany Green believes educational opportunity isn’t simply about giving students more information.

As a first-generation college student, therapist and educator, Tiffany saw firsthand how social capital shapes the opportunities young people can imagine and pursue. She also began noticing something else: students who adults described as unmotivated or disengaged were often overwhelmed.

Today, Tiffany is the founder of Uprooted Academy, a college and career guidance platform that uses artificial intelligence to help students navigate opportunities and help school counselors manage increasingly complicated caseloads.

In this episode of One Good Idea, Tiffany talks with Peter Franzen about why students need more than information, how fear and overwhelm can affect decision-making, and why she believes AI can serve as an “equity bridge builder” for students who don’t have access to extensive networks or private college counselors.

And despite building an AI-assisted platform, Tiffany makes one point especially clear: “The best solution for kids is a human.”

Listen to the conversation about social capital, student confidence, educational opportunity — and where AI might fit into the future of student guidance.
