Hi!

I’m building a 3 minute trailer to enter into the Future Vision XPrize competition. The prize is $2.5M to make the movie.

The story is Journey to Kyron, a novel I’ve been working on for many years in which people travel to another planet because technology got so good that such a voyage became possible.

The trailer, a 12 page treatment, and a cover page are due on August 15, 2026.

Here are the judging criteria:

— Evaluation Criteria

Initial screening evaluates four primary dimensions:

1. Concept quality and execution: Is the story compelling and well-realized within production constraints?

2. Scale and ambition: Does the vision think big enough about humanity’s future?

3. Mission alignment: Does the submission genuinely portray a compelling and technology-enabled future where everyone can thrive?

4. Technology-forward storytelling: Is advanced technology meaningfully integrated into the narrative?

I want to smooth the sound and transitions, put in more sound effects, and generally clean this up before I submit, but overall, the arc is there, I think.

But I’d love to know if you can follow, if you were confused about anything, and if it makes you want to see the movie or not.
