Those of you that have been readers for long know I don’t teach classes very often. Only 2-3 times a year. My shop is setup for production not teaching and it takes a fair amount of effort to get it ready for a class. I have small children so traveling I keep to a minimum. So I write, and speak when I do travel.
But learning through a blog and taking an in person class are not the same. So here are some early alerts to two classes I’ll be teaching here in my shop the next few months.
I will be teaching two classes with Plane Wellness. Both classes will be building my Bench Stool.
Each class will be 3 full days with all materials included in the course fee. It also includes breakfasts and lunches. The Bench Stool is a great intermediate level chair making project that will cover all the skills you need to make chairs. We will cover seat drilling angles and seat carving. All the legs and rungs we will hand shape on the shave horse with drawknives and spoke shaves. We will cover components of a good joint and making both straight and tapered tenons as well as assembly of a box stretcher undercarriage.
My Shop is located in the central Shenandoah Valley of Virginia and our Lumberyard is next door
