Uncomfortable Consistency

I told the truth today.

You can always tell when you do that because it goes over like a lead balloon.

When I say "truth," I mean I quoted from two published interviews and honestly shared what the author, Penny Junor, actually said in 2003 and 2007.

I also quoted from her published book, sharing a paragraph detailing the then-Prince Charles’s concerns about his post-death “truth”.

I pointed out how it reminded me of Meghan’s implied threat that she had found her diary in the sock drawer at Frogmore Cottage.

I’ve condemned Harry and Meghan in past episodes of The Vintage Read Show for aiding Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand in the writing of Finding Freedom, Harry and Meghan’s long-winded victimhood statement, and then denying it.

I have also gone after them several times for their alleged contributions to Omid Scobie's Endgame (which the book’s editors have verified, as Tom Bower states in Betrayal).

It seemed hypocritical, therefore, not to speak out about Charles and Camilla’s alleged commissioning of Penny Junor’s book, which Bower framed like this.

I also criticised Charles and Camilla's denial of involvement in the book, despite the author admitting twice in two interviews that they were.

It appears the desire to be consistent puts me in the minority?

After all, there is so much important news to cover: Andrew's out-of-date funeral plan, cat videos beating Cookie Queens at the box office, Harry loving the bagpipes at David Foster’s foundation dinner. A banquet on inanity arriving in our inboxes daily for our clicking pleasure.

I resent it.

I resent King Charles III not being held accountable for this saga that has dragged on and on (It’s never going to stop, is it), grinding endlessly at the direct expense of the Monarchy and Veterans. I resent that we’ve had the institution undermined and sullied by a succession of grifters and nothing is ever done.

Then to top it all off, YouTube had an immediate hissy fit, slapping a community note about Diana’s accidental death in the French tunnel, which I didn’t even mention? Strange that they should feel the need to do that just because we are discussing Diana, Charles and Camilla in one programme… do they know something we don’t?

(Before any Monarchists have a complete breakdown, I’m JOKING.)

I thought this level of disillusionment was the purview of my once 18-year-old angst. The dawning horror that many in positions of power are clearly self-serving and corrupt.

It is only now, in my latter years, that I see how many enable it.

I shall now go and pull out some weeds and pretend I’m actually achieving something.
