Written on June 15th.
I’m as ready as I can be.
Post-surgery medication, sorted. My recovery pillow so I can sleep on my back and upright. The snacks and meals I actually want, already made. Jacob arrived yesterday and he’s staying with me through the week.
The last seven days have been strange. I barely cammed. I tuned out with some Shrinking, season 3, and a lot of housecleaning. Distraction in its purest form. I could feel something in my body, some low hum of anxiety I wasn’t quite naming, and the moment Jacob walked through the door it just left. Gone.
I don’t have a tidy closing thought for tonight. Just this: I’m ready.
