Sen. Charlane Oliver · The Senator Source

Today is Election Day, and every vote cast today decides whether District 19 keeps a fighter in the State Senate. Polls close at 7:00 p.m. local time tonight, and if you’re in line by then, stay in line. Tennessee law guarantees you the right to vote as long as you’re already there when polls close. Bring a government-issued photo ID, and when you check in, ask for a Democratic ballot. That’s how your voice gets counted in the races that will decide the direction of our state.

Find Your Polling Location

For the past four years, I’ve done exactly what I told you I would: show up, speak up, and refuse to be bought or bossed. I passed the Norma Jean Upshaw Act and Child Care Red Tape Reduction Act. I authored the Homes Not Hedge Funds Act to protect our families from Wall Street investors buying up our neighborhoods out from under us. When leadership tried to punish me for standing up on the Senate floor, I didn’t back down. I’ve stood with working families over corporate CEOs, defended our right to vote, championed reproductive freedom and child care investments, and fought for our four HBCUs and neighborhoods too often underfunded.

That record is why I’m proud to be endorsed by The Collective PAC, Vote Mama PAC, March On PAC, Tennessee Advocates for Planned Parenthood, SEIU Local 205, and Moms Demand Action. I've earned the trust from national organizations electing Black leaders and mothers, to the union representing the working people who keep Nashville running.

I humbly ask for your vote to continue the work we’ve started four years ago.

Be ready…this ballot is long! In fact, every local, state and federal office directly shapes our daily lives and our future. When you vote today, you’ll weigh in on:

U.S. Senate

U.S. Congress (Districts 1-9)

Governor

State Legislative seats (House & Senate) Vote for me!

State Executive Committee

County Officials (Trustee, Public Defender, Sheriff, Register of Deeds, Court Clerks, County Clerk)

School Board (District 2, 4, 6, 8)

Judicial vacant seats

This race - and the kind of Tennessee we want to live in - comes down to who shows up. Please make your plan, get to the polls, and bring someone with you if you can.

With gratitude,

Senator Charlane Oliver
Tennessee State Senate, District 19
