Privacy Policy

When I set up this blog, privacy and security were key reasons for choosing a static site generator, namely the awesome Hugo framework: https://gohugo.io/.

Thus, https://security.lauritz-holtmann.de does not set cookies nor aims to track you on application level.

Hosting & Logging (Hetzner)

This website is hosted by Hetzner Online GmbH.
The web server configuration avoids creating unnecessary logs — no access or error logs are intentionally stored by me.

However, Hetzner automatically processes certain anonymized technical data for operational and security reasons. This may include:

• The requesting IP address (shortened/anonymized so it cannot be linked to an individual)
• Date and time of access
• Requested resource (e.g., page or file)
• Referrer URL
• Browser and operating system information (user agent string)

These logs are automatically managed by Hetzner for system integrity, abuse detection, and performance analysis.

Chromium Extensions

The AuRA - Auth. Request Analyser, Dead Domain Discovery and Save All Tabs Chromium extensions were developed and are maintained by me. As browser extensions have broad permissions and access to sensitive data, Google requires developers to have a privacy policy (for good reasons!).

My extensions do not disclose any information to its author (me), all operations are implemented solely using the bundled, client-side JavaScript. The extensions do not collect any user data.

Mobile Applications

Some of my projects may also be distributed as mobile applications (for example, via Apple TestFlight for iOS).
These applications:

• Do not implement any form of analytics or external tracking (no Google Analytics, Firebase, Sentry, etc.).
• Operate entirely without transmitting usage data to me or third parties.
• May be subject to platform-specific telemetry or diagnostic logging provided automatically by the respective distribution platform (e.g., Apple’s TestFlight), which is outside my control and governed by the platform provider’s privacy policy.

If a mobile app collects or transmits any data (for example, for authentication or bug reporting), this will be clearly stated within the app or its accompanying documentation.
