3-part rare Tokusatsu viewing party
Cave of Monsters presents a very special screening of Monster Commando, a never-before-seen English translation of. Directed by Jin Matsuyama in 1996 starring female wrestlers, these three short films feature some absolutely stunning design, bizarre monsters, and great action.
The year: 210X. In an era where humanity roams the galaxy freely, bounty hunters Y, M and H, hardened by solitude and battle, earn their keep by capturing alien creatures on brutal, hellish planets.
Cave of Monsters’ own Sam Kusek is hosting and we will have extremely limited edition RISO-posters (in 3 different colorways!) and CoM VHS tapes at the event!
Friday, February 6th // 7:00-9:00pm
A film by local screenwriter + director Ryan Webb
We met Ryan Webb last Summer when he showed up to our shop with a bag of camera equipment to film Buck-A-Bloo, Jaques Boyreau’s beatnik short, and instantly made everybody feel relaxed about the day-long shoot (with live jazz and VHS swap). We hit it off — he’s a really friendly, really creative fella — and when we found out he was about to release his own film in the Fall, we were delighted to see it at the Clinton Street Theater premier with a packed crowd.
Let’s Do Drugs and Talk to Aliens is really our kind of movie. A slacker comedy with a ton of heart. A love letter to interpersonal connection. Low budget special effects, physical props, and alien puppets galore. Goofball humor. A feature film made by a bunch of folks whose love for making movies shines in every scene.
We’re very excited to host an intimate screening of this fantastic movie with Ryan Webb next Friday in our shop, along with a couple of limited-edition RISO prints and we’ll screen some fun sci-fi cartoons beforehand.

PREORDERS ARE STILL LIVE!
This is the final weekend we’re taking preorders for the shirt we’re putting out with art by Raf Spielman (screen printed by Grilka Press)! An essential part of any wardrobe, the tee shirt is worn as a cloth covering to keep your upper half warm and unchafed by heavier, textured overgarments. Like a modern Marlon Brando or James Dean, you too can now pioneer the handsome look of T-shaped cloth exposing your arms and head while helping you meet the requirements for polite modern society.
These shirts will ship out early March and all preorders come with a fun bonus sticker sheet!
💛 PEACE ON EARTH FOREVER 💛
Thanks for making it all the way down here to the bottom of the page. Very excited to share this wood burning on the side of a squirrel feeder. This piece of art is pure and true.
