When we ‘go silent’ do our readers and listeners stay true? I sure hope so.

In the decades since my mom died in 2000, I have worked in hospice.

I hear these phrases almost daily. Have we gotten too used to them to be paying attention to what someone might be telling us? And when these words are used, what do they actually create?
Grief sometimes feels like a snowball rolling down hill, a runaway train or one of those long fancy lines of Dominoes that once toppled, can't be stopped.

this aging thing. And all that comes with it.
Before any other senses were fully engaged it was the smell that brought me out of a deep sleep.
Excavating the layers of grief

It’s fire season in Colorado.

What happens when we find ourselves actually experiencing something we have never before known on a personal basis? Maybe something we thought we knew, only to learn we never really did.

Once seen, the grief of aging somehow softens. Sort of like the skin on my upper arms.
