Good evening!
I’m sure your inbox is crowded right now with requests from political campaigns, asking for your support. Tonight is a deadline night — and tomorrow my team will be meeting to discuss our fundraising numbers, which have a direct result on our budget.
But forget about that for a minute.
I need to talk about something: This week, the Senate Judiciary Committee was supposed to vote on Todd Blanche’s confirmation to be the next Attorney General.
This is a man who defied a bipartisan law requiring the release of all Epstein files.
He personally worked to develop Trump’s weaponization slush fund for rioters, and as Deputy Attorney General he has set the Department of Justice after Trump’s enemies.
And he briefly forgot that the Attorney General works for WE THE PEOPLE — not the President.
For too long, American public servants have gone to D.C. and immediately started working for their own self interests. Blanche is just one more example.
His vote may have been delayed, but the President has doubled down on his role as the acting Attorney General — and on their weaponization slush fund.
In Mississippi, no one is above the law. I’ve spent my career as a prosecutor holding the powerful accountable, without fear or favor, and no matter their party, and that’s exactly what I’ll bring to Washington.
That’s why my campaign has put out a comprehensive anti-corruption agenda. There’s no running away from this problem. We need to rip corruption out, root and stem, so it can’t grow back.
Now, our team has made some real progress.
Independent polling shows we are virtually tied. We’ve closed a 13 point gap. More and more national experts are starting to tune into this race.
But we are still at a fundraising disadvantage. Cindy Hyde-Smith has the help of billionaires and huge corporate PACs.
That isn’t how we’re running things. We’re powered by donations of $5 or $10 at a time from regular Mississppians who are ready for a change. It’s the right way to do things, but it means we need to be in your inbox from time to time asking for help.
Anything that you’re able to donate will go directly to helping us build a winning campaign, beat Cindy Hyde-Smith, and take on corruption in Washington.
Thank you for everything,
Scott Colom
