“The caged bird sings with a fearful trill, of things unknown, but longed for still.”

— Maya Angelou

Dear Friends,

Before we begin...

Last week, Book Two opened on a city of white stone and golden domes, 247 years after Sara Vance and the Earth refugees arrived on K2-18b. A young historian named Elara—the sixth to bear that name, the great-granddaughter of Sara—found a buried journal that contradicted everything she had been taught. A young artist named Kael painted beings of light that looked less like saviors and more like wardens. A young engineer named Marcus III decoded signals from a world the Guide insisted was dead. And the Archivist, older than the Guide, older than the First, called what it was witnessing by its true name: domestication.

Now, we go deeper. Into the Guide’s domain. Into the mind behind the cage. And into the old café where three questioners will finally find each other.

Here is Chapter 24 — Book Two: The Glass Paradise — ∆ The Carthage Cycle.
