Pinterest is in my head again, vol. 4

A summer vacation means a lot of time spent reading one page of my book before putting it down to help my daughter color because her hand is tired, shuffling my son’s Uno cards for the hundredth time, or breaking up a full-on wrestling match between the boys. It also means a little me-time on Pinterest. It’s one of those activities I can do when my brain is operating at half-capacity, which has been quite common these past few weeks.

The last time I shared Pinterest finds, I mentioned it might become a series. Well, this is technically volume four.

Pinterest is a constant in my life. I’ve written about this before (here and here) and yet here we are again, because apparently this is just who I am now.

There is something about a hint of pink (or salmon pink) in the bedroom that I find charming. You could go full-on pink like my late grandmother, but I tend to use color in smaller doses that can easily be swapped out when I inevitably fall for another shade. It works in almost every style.

Pinterest kept serving me desserts presented in playful ways. I'll be keeping an eye out for small silver bowls at flea markets this summer.

One Etro pouch from SS16 was enough to send my feed into a spiral of satin pouches, vintage bags and Etsy finds.

The New Society is a lovely Spanish children’s brand (they also have a womens collection). Their AW26 collection, photographed with a western feel, has me smitten. They had me at horses.

Mansur Gavriel’s “Dream Flats” have popped up non-stop. Guess which color I am falling for? Hint: I am incredibly boring.

I'm familiar with Tapio Wirkkala's work because I own Lehti ("Leaf"), the glass dish he designed for Iittala in 1952. The piece belonged to my Finnish grandmother before being passed down to my mother, who later gave it to me.

Last week, Pinterest started showing me his silver Lehti bowls. Safe to say it sent me down a rabbit hole.

Wirkkala (1915-1985) is considered one of the most influential figures in 20th century Scandinavian design. Most people know him for his Ultima Thule collection, but he also designed jewelry, cutlery, furniture and ceramics. His “Crane” lamps have become serious collectors’ pieces – I recently spotted a pair on 1st Dibs listed for $22k.

Valeria Corda’s brand Santa Teresa dell’ Habareno creates these beautiful bags.

A little hint of ruby red in a ring stack feels unexpectedly elegant and old school. Fitting as it also is the birthstone of July.

Maybe it's because I live in my Scandinavian bubble, but I hadn't come across Plain Goods before Pinterest introduced us. The Connecticut has a beautiful curation of clothing, home, and kids items. They carry brands like Auralee, Margaret Howell, Moonstar as well as lovely one-of-a-kind vintage pieces.

I’ve had floor-to-ceiling mirrors in the past year since seeing the below image from Studio Escapist, and Pinterest just won’t let me drop the thought.

The simplest styling trick in this entire post: use your belt to anchor a knit. Functional, but it also looks polished.
