Which cover should I use for AWAKENED?

My YA Fantasy Sleeping Beauty retelling, AWAKENED, will be published in the next few months through Inalta Press, and I need your help finalizing a cover!

Which is your favorite? I always envisioned some pink on the cover but I think the red is the most striking?

I started actually posting on TikTok and Instagram, and went semi-viral for a series on Weird book recommendations :D

When we last spoke, I had paused my publishing activities in the hopes of signing with a particular agent on the recommendation of a friend… This agent remembered me from querying back in 2008 and was particularly interested in my writing journey with NAMELESS, but for a variety of reasons we didn’t end up working together.

Since December I’ve been getting ready to go public with AWAKENED. The longest part has been waiting on art to come through for the book trailer, which I’ll post very soon :-)

Everything else is going great! My friend Steve and I are getting ready to move from Alabama to Seattle (where I’m from!), and I can’t wait to go home, even if it means leaving my immediate family behind in Alabama. We’ve been living in Alabama since 2007, but I always missed Washington’s mountains and trees so, so much. Ever since Steve and I decided to be platonic partners last August, we’ve been aiming toward relocating. I could never have afforded to move back on my own (not with two dogs and two cats! The rent for a property with a yard is atrocious), but with our incomes combined it’s possible, at least for a year. And like we told our families, if we don’t like it after a year, we can always come back to Alabama!

I stopped posting chapters of DEATH MERIDIAN on Wattpad due to realizing I needed to rework the plot. I’m very, very proud of my work in restructuring the plot outline, as it represents a new level of growth for me in my writing skills. That manuscript is at 50k and going very strong!

Can’t wait to talk to you more about what it’s like planning a family with a platonic partner, leveling up on writing skills, why people keep erroneously accusing me of being a witch, and other dreams and schemes I’ve got cooking!
