Style Files: What I've Been Wearing in Paris Lately

Hello from the depths of the four-month sleep regression.

I’m currently operating on approximately two brain cells—which, conveniently, is just enough to walk you through what I’ve been up to and wearing lately. Straight from the style files.

Most days, you’ll find me in some variation of jeans and an oversized knit—a direct result of sleep deprivation and the inevitable late-winter style slump. But a few weeks ago, men’s fashion week (and women’s market week) called, and I traded my nursing bra for an underwire and my slippers for heels.

The strategy? Simple base layers, a coat that does the heavy lifting, and a few well-placed accessories to pull it all together.

The Occasion: Agmes 10 Year Anniversary Party at Rives

Fit Notes: I wanted my Agmes pieces to do the talking, so I kept the rest of the outfit simple: an all-black base with a white coat layered on top.

These jeans don’t quite fit yet, so I styled them with this top that ties around the waist. It’s been incredibly handy for styling my postpartum torso—and unbuttoned pants lol.

The Occasion: A.Emery showroom visit to preview the pre-fall collection + matcha at Cafe Nuances

Fit Notes: I wanted to style the jacket as a top, but the weather had other plans—so I layered a black turtleneck underneath for a bit of warmth without compromising the idea.

I paired it with washed black denim and black leather accessories to keep everything streamlined. It’s technically an all-black look, but the mix of textures and subtle variations in wash give it depth and dimension.

The Occasion: Toteme Resee of the Fall Winter 26 collection

Fit Notes: Given the occasion, it only felt right to wear Toteme. In this situation the coat was the outfit—more so than usual. Everything else played a supporting role. There to let the coat take center stage.

The Occasion - Alfie Spring preview, Róhe pre-fall preview and lunch (and coffee) at Dreamin’ Man

Fit Notes - I’m pretty sure I had this Rosie Huntington-Whiteley outfit tucked in the back of my mind when I pulled this together. Subconscious styling at its finest.

Either way, I was determined to wear this leather jacket. I layered a white long sleeve underneath, letting the cuffs peek out to break up the all-black palette and add a bit of dimension.

The Occassion - drinks with a girlfriend at Le Mary Celeste

Fit Notes - I love styling winter outerwear with basics. There’s something about the juxtaposition of a substantial, heavy coat layered over a simple tee that creates just the right amount of tension in a look. It feels intentional without trying too hard.

It’s also a practical way to extend the life of your true “deep winter” pieces—those weighty coats and dramatic layers—into slightly warmer weather. Keep the foundation light and pared back, and let the outerwear do the heavy lifting.

The Occasion - Almada Cocktail Evening at Hotel Balzac

Fit Notes - I bought this dress while I was pregnant—and promptly grew out of it before I could wear it. An evening with Almada felt like the perfect excuse to finally take it for a spin around town.

Sadly it’s a size too big now, but we made it work. I paired it with knee-high boots (it was properly chilly) and a long, tailored coat to preserve the clean line of the silhouette. And camouflage the fact that it was too big.

The Occasion - coffee run (and sanity walk) with Chris—we take many of these

Fit Notes - With casual outfits, I almost always incorporate something tailored to elevate the the look. That bit of structure keeps things feeling intentional rather than thrown together.

I also love pairing a hoodie with a tailored coat—it strikes that sweet spot between relaxed and refined. Casual, yes. But sloppy? Hardly.
