This is how so many people get passed over while suffering from fatigue - poor sleep -weight gain & hair loss:

When you look at the ranges for ferritin - they vary by lab & many practitioners argue over what “optimal” actually is.

Labcorp calls a woman’s ferritin normal anywhere from 15 to 150 ng/mL.

Quest runs from 11 all the way to 307.

And “normal” is not the same as optimal, because most of the practitioners I trust want to see a woman closer to 50 to 100 before her hair, energy, and mood start to come back. So you can sit technically “in range,” still be shedding, exhausted, and cold all the time, and get told you’re “normal”.

Your labs are a starting point for better questions for your provider, not a verdict. If you want the deeper version, I broke down the two things to rule out first in Saturday’s post → Two Things Everyone With a Ferritin Problem Should Rule Out

Bonus: a ferritin cheat sheet. So many of you asked the obvious next question. Okay, but what number should I actually be at? So I made you one - below the paywall!

A brand new video. I just dropped a YouTube video on the 5 health trends that can worsen estrogen dominance, and a few of them are things you have been told are “healthy.” If your labs, your cycle, or your hormones feel stuck, watch this next →

Our Substack Zoom is tomorrow: This is our monthly private subscriber chat, and it’s where we go deeper than any post can. Bring your questions and let’s talk them through! Details are right below the paywall (along with the ferritin cheat sheet) for paid subscribers.

Have a great week!
