Footer is an interesting part of the website. No one cares about it until they discover it. After that it either let's people explore other parts of the website or it makes them close the tab.
So after making a draft of a possible header with a grid made of hexagons, it made sense to design a footer in the same style before finishing the header up. Since the theme of the new design are hexagons it makes sense to look at the whole website as a hexagonal structure. With this in mind the footer is a place where a person is looking at the possible doors from inside of the hexagon.

The opposite of that would be a person arriving at a landing page, either home page or a separate landing page with a different topic (which is not a blog post). One can think about it as a professional blog and a personal blog. In which case the person arrives to the hexagon from the outside.

There's a method to this madness. My name probably won't change again, so it makes sense to keep my professional presence under my name. Even if I start a company and grow it beyond one person shop, it would make more sense to keep two blogs.
Also we all go into rabbit holes when browsing the web. So there's a non-zero chance that someone who stumbles onto my sewing videos might be looking for someone who's into web and charts. And vice versa. It feels like a long shot but there are days when it feels like my career was built on luck. If I believed that my luck never runs out, I would not be redesigning my web site into hexagonal hub.
Let's look at the visuals. My plan for the footer is to be darker, so background of the footer's content and the hexagons are a bit more darker than the rest. This is to make noticeable transition to a different part of the web site.
As for the navigation, it's a bit more complicated than the one that should go in the header. There are four groups of links. First is about getting in touch with me. The link to contact page and to social media are obvious. About page is grouped here in case a first time visitor is curious who is operating this web page, so having it at the top makes a lot of sense.
Second group of links are to my professional pages. I am choosing to group data viz, design and development because these three have an overlap. Also I would like to do a bit more data viz than I'm currently doing. As for the design part, it was my hope to be wrong about this, but it seems that as more designers are using coding tools to design, I'd rather get absorbed into design than be pushed into backend development.

The last two groups are Personal and Pages, the question was where to put the Now page. On one hand it feels like a standalone page. On the other it's a personal page. For the time being it's part of Pages as the items in Personal section are blogs.
This is not the final form of the footer, there probably will be change between now and the moment when Hetzner let's customers create a server with Ubuntu 26.4. For now this is good enough.
