Rita: “After a friend had passed (wheelchair bound) I saw him out my kitchen window walking down the street. It was a very different feeling.”
Tess: “When we lived in Coeur d Alene, Idaho (we moved to Florida 6 years ago) we built our home in a subdivision that used to be farmland. We had a young girl ghost that hung out in our daughters’ rooms. She was mischievous but not mean. She would turn lights off, close and open doors and move things. Fun but not scary. She did not follow us to Florida.”
Sharon: “An encounter that remains very clear to me to this day occurred when I was a young girl. I never met my grandfathers. They both died young and no one spoke about them to us. They were gone and missed. We lived in a 2 story house and one night I couldn’t sleep so I went downstairs. “At the bottom of the stairs I saw a man who looked just like my paternal grandfather. He was looking for my Bobbeh who lived with us. I was stunned and then he disappeared.”

The ghosts are redemptive, not scary, in these lighter-edged tales wrapping around romances and historical mysteries. My favorite ghost is Liza, the Ghostly Diva. The deceased actress is sassy and determined, appearing each time in a different fabulous vintage outfit! But she also has a very poignant backstory…
In September, I shared photos from the Chicago Art Institute. This month, I traveled to Seattle and was absolutely gaga over the Chihuly Museum.
If you’ve never seen Chihuly’s work, it’s bucket-list worthy! He was born in Tacoma, WA, and earned a degree in interior design. In 1965, he started glass blowing, leading to a lifelong passion that enthralls the world.
I haven’t shared any updates lately about my biographical historical fiction novel, The Eighth Wonder of Lillian Sinclair. Since some of you have asked about my next work, here’s the scoop: I’d planned to submit it to agents last month, but alas…I started reworking the opening pages. I surely didn’t want to get bogged down in editing again, but I do think the work is better for it. This week, I’ll send out my first query. Wish me luck!
For my local reader pals, Blue Sky Music is playing a Halloween gig at Michigan City Senior Center. Join us for a great dance party! It’s a member event, but anyone over age 55 can pay $15 that day for the full-year membership. What a great deal!
