Sam Zises · LRND™ Intelligence by Sam Zises

If you’re reading this, you already know the game has changed.

AI didn’t just speed up marketing — it flattened it. More content, faster campaigns, and somehow... less that’s worth remembering. Will the winning agencies of the future be the ones who didn’t just embrace AI the hardest, but also be the ones who knew what to protect?

That’s what this newsletter is about. Every issue, we’ll cut through the noise and bring you the stories, insights, and shifts worth your attention — through the lens of people who live at the intersection of machine and human creativity.

Welcome to LRND™ Intelligence. Let’s get into it.

AI-generated content has converged toward the median. The more models are trained on existing data, the more everything looks and sounds the same. Marketing Dive put it plainly: “A lot of the output is trending toward the median.”

The irony? This is actually good news for brands with a real point of view. When everything around you is beige, bold is a business strategy.

What it means for you: Your brand voice isn’t a nice-to-have anymore. It’s a performance asset. Invest in it.

Generative & Answer Engine Optimization is the practice of making your brand visible inside AI-generated answers — not just Google’s ten blue links. According to Search Engine Land, when an AI engine names your brand in its answer, it delivers an implicit endorsement no organic listing ever could. The competition is fierce: LLMs typically cite just 2–7 domains per response.

Most brands have no idea where they stand. A Kantar report found that 24% of AI users already rely on an AI assistant to make purchasing decisions on their behalf.

What it means for you: Before you audit your Google rankings, audit your AI visibility. If a potential client asks ChatGPT who to call for branded content in New York, do you show up?

Creator ad spend in the U.S. is forecast to climb 18% year-over-year in 2026, per the IAB — and CreatorIQ’s 2025–2026 State of Creator Marketing Report shows average influencer marketing budgets have grown 171% since last year. The most sophisticated brands are no longer treating creators as awareness plays. They’re plugging them directly into performance pipelines: attribution tracking, paid amplification, conversion measurement.

The average return on influencer investment? $5.20 for every $1 spent, with top-performing campaigns reaching $11–18x.

What it means for you: If you’re still evaluating creators on follower count, you’re two years behind. The metric is ROI — and the infrastructure to measure it now exists.

While holding companies restructure and bloated hierarchies get squeezed out, independents are accelerating. Triton Digital’s survey of 100 ad leaders found that AI agents are beginning to take on strategy-to-execution workflows end to end — putting real pressure on traditional account management models. The winners will be lean, tech-enabled human teams who can move at machine speed without losing the creative edge that machines still can’t replicate.

What it means for you: The value proposition of a boutique, AI-powered agency has never been stronger. Speed, soul, and skin in the game — you can’t get that from a holding company.

Across CPG, fashion, entertainment, and advertising, authenticity is emerging as a tier — not a tone. Triton Digital’s ad industry roundup captured it well: “As AI saturates the market with synthetic content, authenticity and ‘human-made’ work will become premium differentiators.”

This isn’t nostalgia — it’s a market signal. When everything can be generated, the fact that something was made by a person who cared becomes a differentiator worth naming.

What it means for you: If human creativity is at the core of what you do, say it louder.
