I finally brought my copy of Bitchy! The Exasperating Existence of Midge McCracken, which I will be reviewing on the free Saturday newsletter updates after I get around to reading it. In the meantime, it’s single-issue review time!

“Ticked Off” is as self-explanatory and vague as you can get with a Bitchy Bitch title. After all, Midge is always ticked off about something! If you’ve read my review of Naughty Bits #25, this is a continuation of Midge’s sexual tensions with new coworker Chuck. However, I don’t have #26 and #28, which are part of the story arc, so there’s some context I’m missing.

Marcie’s subplot is great as ever as she continues to battle carnal fantasies towards childhood friend David and learns her fire-and-brimstone Baptist pastor, Reverend Mooley, is under arrest for sexually abusing young men. A character closed in her religious bubble with a sanctimonious self-perception, it’s entertaining to see her perfect world shatter around her.

The longest story in this issue, the memoir comic “Bye, Bye Daddy,” is the real highlight this time, and one of the most touching ones Roberta Gregory
